What Customers Say About Grizzly H4379 8" Bench Grinder:

It has more than enough power to do the job without bogging down ----- a quality I have not found in other grinders. I cut 2 pieces 18 inches long, drilled and counterbored one piece for the grinder and drilled and counterbored the other piece for the stand. It has plenty of power and is very smooth in operation, with minimal vibration. I had to make an adapter plate, using a scrap piece of 1 X 12 white melamine shelving material. This is not a big deal for a woodworker, but might be a problem for the average person without a few shop tools. It turned out just fine ----- but out of the box, you can't get there from here.PS: October 1, 2005. It comes well packaged, in a sturdy container, to prevent shipping damage. The stand is very well made and sturdy, but the mounting holes for the grinder and the stand are miles apart.
I attached the grinder with (4) 1/4-20 X 2 inch carriage bolts, then attached the stand flange to the other piece with (4) 1/4-20 X 1 1/2 carriage bolts. I also use this grinder as a buffing wheel for polishing finished walnut woodwork. This is a very nice bench grinder for the price, and perhaps any price. The tool rests were a bit hard to install with the bolts being just a thread too short ----- but it is manageable. However, if you also order the Grizzly G 7120 grinder stand, you will not have an "out of the box" experience. I then screwed the two pieces together to make a very sturdy adapter.
